Outdoor recreation is seen almost unanimously as the best way to be physically active and improve health.

Fit and Fabulous . . . Outdoors! is a motivating 30 minute weekly television program inspiring women of all fitness levels to get outside and get moving.

Taking in a Mountain View

Each week we will showcase how the outdoors can be included as part of a fit lifestyle.

We will take participants hiking in California, kayaking in Seattle, running through corn fields in Iowa, and biking through New England in the fall.

For years women have told me that their number one obstacle to exercise is time. This does not have to be true - just outside your front door is everything you need to get fit.

I grew up as an overweight kid and spent a lifetime suffering from very low self-esteem. When I turned 40, I decided to hike the hightest peak in the U.S., (Mt. Whitney at 14,495 ft) and I lost 35 pounds. I fell in love with Mother Nature and how strong I felt.

My life changed. Now I help women who want to change their lives by getting fit.

As a champion for women’s health, each episode of the show will have three segments that highlight an outdoor activity and show how many calories are burned. Each week viewers will be inspired to get outside for some invigorating activities that just could lead to them becoming Fit and Fabulous . . . Outdoors!

Those who regularly engage in outdoor recreation express the most satisfaction with their own personal health and fitness.
